Last month I traveled to Italy for Sara & Alessandro’s wedding. This was an incredible experience. I was taken in and treated like one of the family. I had time to do touristy things, but I also got a chance to see a side of Italy most tourists don’t. I ate home cooked meals and got to see towns far off the beaten path. I like seeing the world this way.
Let me back up. Alessandro lived in Toronto for awhile a few years back. Ale worked with Mike and we quickly became good friends. Fortunately when he moved onto the UK we managed to keep in touch with him and see him on our, seemingly annual, visits to London. One visit we met Sara, a radiant lady from northern Italy who worked in London. We saw a spark in our friend we hadn’t seen before. It was wonderful! We also instantly fell in love with her. How could you not, she is so full of life and so kind. Fast forward to a Skype chat we had with them when they told us they were engaged. They told us of their plans to get married near Sara’s hometown in Carpi in the Modena region of Italy. And the rest, as they say, is history!
It’s customary for the friends of the couple to plan a few games or pranks.Sara & Ale, thank you from the bottom of my heart for sharing your beautiful wedding and country with me. The trust you put in me means the absolute world! xo
