Ashley & Cole were married on a warm and sunny September afternoon near the shores of Lake Simcoe, north of Toronto. The ceremony was held outdoors in the green gardens of The Briars, a heritage manor steeped in history, hospitality, and beauty in Jackson’s Point, Ontario. A friend led the couple in their vows, beneath a sky of blue and a wooden teepee inspired altar that was fringed with flowers, ferns and sprigs of green. The couples’ niece and nephew served as flower girl and ring bearer. The flower girl floated down the aisle sweetly in tulle, and the ring bearer marched alongside her, cute-as-a-button dressed in suspenders and smiles.
Flowers, a favourite detail of the bride’s, played an important role in this relaxed and charming lakeside wedding. Watercolour roses and ranunculus graced the stationery that a dear friend had lovingly created for the bride and groom. September blooms appeared throughout the day in a soft, classic colour palette. They crowned both the bride and her maids, lending a bohemian, woodland flair to the day. Flowers also overflowed from Ashley’s show stopping bouquet. Around the neck of the groom and his men were floral inspired ties. Fun could also be found in the details of the day. The groom and groomsmen supported their favourite baseball team by sporting Blue Jays socks on their toes, and the couple’s furry friend even made an appearance dressed in his best.
I love how excited Ashley’s mom is here waiting for the ceremony to begin!
To Ashley & Cole, you guys are fabulous. It was such an honour to capture your “Best Day Ever”! xo
