Last spring when I was in Vancouver I had the chance to second shoot for my dear friend Fran Chelico. I have admired Fran’s work for years so to shoot along side her was a real treat. Day one of the three day Indian/Italian fusion wedding began with the Gaye Holud ceremony followed by the Mehndi party. These ladies totally cracked me up. So much love and laughter in the room it was incredible!

Some years back Michelle wrote a paper about using cemeteries as public green spaces. One of the prettiest ones in town she came across was the Necropolis in Cabbagetown. I live fairly close to Cabbagetown but I didn’t even know it was there. The 3 of us set off on one warm June afternoon to explore this fascinating place. The Necropolis is home to some of the city’s oldest graves as well as lots of lovely green areas. We almost got ourselves locked in for the night but the security guard found us on his final sweep.
