Last month I had the pleasure of traveling to B.C. for Jackie and Warren’s Tofino wedding. For those of you who don’t know, Tofino is a magical place on the west coast of Vancouver Island. Its rugged coastline is bathed in wild, unprotected, Pacific waves which makes surfing one of the things it’s famous for. In my opinion, Tofino is the epitome of west coast beauty.
Tofino has been an important part of both Jackie and Warren’s lives for many years so it was a natural choice for their destination wedding. They have been visiting this place for years, even before they met each other. Warren’s parents also honeymooned in Tofino many years ago. On this day in July that special place in their hearts that they hold for Tofino just got a whole lot larger!
The day began with a morning surfing session at Cox Bay Beach. After lunch we caught up with Jackie as she traded in her wetsuit for a gorgeous lace gown.
A big thank you to my dear friend Fran Chelico for coming to shoot with me. It was wonderful having you there!
I love this little sequence. During the signing I caught Warren looking over at his dad and Fran caught his dad looking back with a thumbs up! After the ceremony a bunch of their friends surprised them with a float plane that flew by and took aerial pictures of the whole group. Above is my picture but I’m really curious to see what the plane got!
To Jackie & Warren, thank you for asking me to photograph your wedding. This beautiful love filled event is one I won’t soon forget! xoxo
